AET guides: redesigning the central structures of an academy trust
Our mission
Building a community to find solutions to the big challenges in education.
Launched by Lift Schools, a network of 57 schools, Project H shares resources, ideas and insights from staff across our schools and trust.

While it's important to celebrate our successes, we also believe in the power of learning from every experience and embracing growth. Through Project H, teachers and leaders can share their insights authentically.

Harnessing expertise through an open and collaborative approach, we want to find scalable solutions to improve schools. Reflections found on this site come from a commitment to:

Honesty - openly sharing our successes, setbacks, and challenges, so that we can develop transparent dialogue on what hasn't gone to plan.
Heterodoxy - embracing diverse perspectives, unconventional ideas, and new approaches.
Humility - recognising that there's always room for improvement and that no individual has all the answers.
Mindsets
Project H is more than a platform. It mirrors the culture we are trying to enact at Lift Schools.

We challenge ourselves to think differently, confront our biases, and welcome a range of viewpoints, setting the conditions for a culture of improvement.
Our approach is guided by five fundamental mindsets.
Share ideas early, often and honestly
Being open about ideas to develop them - even if they might not succeed.
Embrace constructive disagreement
Seeking meaningful discussion, welcoming the fact that we may not always agree.
Value ideas, not ego
Listening to every individual equally, not just those who shout the loudest.
Be curious and open to new ideas
Exploring emerging views from a wide diversity of perspectives.
Focus on facts and reason
Understanding the world as it is, not how we wish it to be.
